These naturally beautiful buttons are hand crafted from a tree branch from a down tree. The branch was splitting due to the drying process. To save this beautiful wood, I cut the branch in quarters to create triangle-shaped buttons that are very charming. The wood is gorgeous and has a little bit of everything. Orangey-brown centers, light-colored sap wood in white and gray, and a lovely grain pattern. The rustic bark is still intact on the outer edge lending more charm.
This set of buttons has been cut, drilled with 2 large holes, and sanded smooth on all sides with the edges slightly rounded. Each button is finished with 100% pure tung oil and buffed with a light coat of carnauba wax for a super smooth, glass-like finish and added durability. These buttons measure approximately 1-1/2 x 1-1/4 inches. Each one is measured from the longest point side to side and from the middle arched side to the tip.
These buttons would make a wonderful embellishment to any sewing or craft project. They are a perfect addition to knitted hats, scarves, sweaters, neck warmers, cowls, handbags, totebags, decorative pillows, or anything your imagination can dream up.

Lot #A634 (RB)
Our buttons go through an 8-step process. First, we select unique tree branches that we salvage from down trees due to wind storms, etc. Each branch is sliced down to create our buttons and is typically cut to 1/4 inch thickness in most cases. We then drill each slice with 2 to 4 large holes to fit bulky yarns or leather, and shape and sand each wood slice smooth using two different grits of sand paper (coarse and fine). Our buttons are then finished with pure tung oil then buffed with a light coat of carnauba wax using a two-step process for a super smooth, glass-like finish and added durability.
