Buy some vintage Startex toweling fabric the way your grandmother (or maybe great-grandmother) bought it - right off the bolt. Fabric is 16 1/2 inches wide with three woven red stripes on each side. The length is 5 yards (180 inches) long, just the right length to make six standard towels. (A 2 1/2-yard length may also be available; look in my shop to see if it's still there.)

Fabric content is 75 percent cotton and 25 percent linen. The selvages are tightly woven, so all you'll need to do is hem the ends. The fabric is in excellent, unused condition with no stains or smells. There are occasional golden flecks and threads, as well as the rare thicker fiber, which are a naturally occuring part of the fabric.

Startex was known for its high quality fabric, towels and tablecloths. The fabric was manufactured by the Acme Cloth Reel Co. of Greenville, South Carolina.

I'm always happy to combine shipping on multiple orders.

Thanks for looking!
