This style of ring was popular from the early 1900s through the 1950s. It's a bit more rare for me to find one from the 1950s. This ring is fully hallmarked with British hallmarks:
MS for the maker, crown for gold, 750 for 18 karat gold, the leopards head for the London assay office, and P for the year 1950.
Sapphire is about 2.7 mm square and is a dark purpleish-blue.
Diamonds: 4, single cut.
Size: UK - Q; US - 8.25; EU - 18.5.
Sizable by your jeweler - please ask if you have questions.
7.83 mm on the finger, sits 3.15 mm high off the finger. Design is 11.9 mm across the finger.
Weighs 2.02 grams.
This ring does show some signs of wear. The milgrain on the leaves is worn, and is not as crisp as it would be on a new ring. The sapphire is in great condition. I imagine this ring has been lovingly worn during it's 62 years!
I occasionally have couples who are looking for matching engagement rings or wedding bands. I have another very similar sapphire ring for women who may want matching rings.
