These have never been fitted with lenses, so you won't have to grapple with a stranger's old prescription lenses before you wear them. You can bring them to your optometrist to be fitted with your prescription, or with tinted lenses for sunglasses -- or you can keep them glass-free and simply wear them as a great costume/fashion piece. They would also look wonderful as a decor item in a shadowbox or a collection of vintage items.
The arm of the glasses is engraved “Futura PAT” and “Made In BRITISH Hong Kong.” The inner left-hand "wing" is engraved with the size "40/19". You can see closeup details in photo #3 above (to see it magnified to full size, click on the thumbnail and then AGAIN on the enlarged photo).
For details on size, condition and shipping, please see below. For more great vintage and antique fashion, decor and more, visit aquamarinedream.etsy.com! Here are some links to get you started, selected for style and funky glam appeal:
Total width, from "wing" to "wing" across top of glasses: 4.75 inches
Width across middle of glasses, from outer edge to outer edge: 3 3/8 inches
Width across top bridge of nose: ½ inch
Height from from inner bottom edge of lens area to inner top edge: 1 1/16 inches
Width from inner edge of lens to outer edge of lens: 1 7/16 inches
Arm length from screws to ear tip: 5 inches
Arm length from screws to place where glasses start to curve: 4 inches
These frames are in excellent, never-used condition. They look very fresh and new. The aluminum does have a few tiny line-shaped scratches on the INSIDE of frame -- see the closeup detail photos. The rubber “ear rests” are in perfect condition. One arm seems to sit slightly higher than the other – if this is a problem, perhaps an optometrist can adjust?
I live in Canada, and will be shipping via Canada Post. I apologize for their high rates! I will refund any overcharge on shipping over $1 -- I'm not out to make money on shipping fees. Luckily, because this item is small and light, it will be relatively inexpensive to mail.
Surface mail to the U.S. is $6; air mail is $8. Both of these services include coverage against loss, but no tracking. The delivery estimate for surface mail is 6 to 12 business days, while air mail is 4 to 10 business days. Let me know if you would like information about faster or tracked options.
Regular parcel post within Canada will be between $7 and $13, depending on your location. This price includes tracking and delivery confirmation, and I will chip in the cost of insurance against loss. Please contact me with your postal code for a more exact quote. I can often combine shipping for multiple purchases within Canada for only a few dollars more.
I can ship this to the U.K. by air mail for $9; most European countries should cost a similar amount, but please contact me for a quote. Canada Post's delivery estimate for international air mail is 6 to 10 business days. This service includes coverage against loss, but no tracking.
