This is commercial top that I've hand painted with acid dyes and steam set. The base is British 58's wool top blended with 15/20% of 6 denier nylon. The nylon will add strength to the final yarn making this ideal for yarn for hard wearing items, it's flat matt nylon rather than sparkly shiny trilobal nylon so it's adding just strength and not glitz. It is not superwash but it doesn't felt easily so I wouldn't recommend it for a project that needs fulling.
All photos were taken in natural light, the first two are in the afternoon and are most true to colour, the rest were taken in the morning and are very cold. There are four braids shown but I'm now down to the last one.
