A single tooth, orange metal zipper shores up the center of this spectacular jacket. Very cutting edge in the 40's-first juncture of zippers on fashion on woman's clothing. Until this time, the idea of "easy access" on woman's clothing was 'not' considered customary. I love that this jacket has a masculine edge with feminine lines.
Graceful round, elongated collar. Tiny puff to the shoulder sleeve. Bold flame red with a touch of blue and yellow, plaid print gaberdine. Fully lined in yellow rayon. Tailored to hug the body-spectacular fit and feel.
From what I gather, it was likely a riding jacket of an artistic natured fraulein. It came from a, generations old German descent, farm family who bred horses in Pennsylvania.
Very good vintage condition, especially for the age.
No tears, odors, piling or snags.
Interior lining-Condition of the rayon lining is very nicely intact.Threads have loosened at the seam (2.5") under one arm area of the rayon lining and could use a stitch. As well, the seams at the shoulder are undone.
Exterior-Near perfection. No flaws, stains or discolorations. Fabric has held its vibrant colors.
Zipper has a scuff of color buffed away at the pull, otherwise works brilliantly. Other than a slight loosening of a seem at the right breast, threads and seams are intact and strong.
Small. Model is an XS with broad shoulders. See measurements for fit.
