Back in 2008, when my son Djordje was homeschooled, we went to Old Salem (www.oldsalem.org), and when we visited Brother's House, a carpenter was working on some very cool furniture items. Needless to say all the people there are in the PC (period correct) costumes, and are using appropriate tools and techniques, demonstrating how the life looked like in that time. That is where the wood came from - a gentleman was kind enough to let me take remnants from his project (huge guest dining table). We recently visited Old Salem, and I took the photo - you can see the carpenter's room on the side bar.
The quote is inscribed via pyrography on one side, while the one with a bark is bare. It is 9" long, close to 2.5" high (wood), with flowers it is 9" high total. Flowers are not glued, so they can be rearranged if you choose so.
I am a woodworker in the family, while flowers that will never need water to look fresh and gorgeous, are designed and delicately folded by my son, Djordje: PaperDisciple.etsy.com
Thank you for looking and have a wonderful joyful day!
