Ingenious and simple, this scarf is labeled Hollywood Hed-Topper - Arlis Mfg. Co. Los Angeles. I believe it dates from about 1960. The scarf is bisected by a band with a ring on one end and a series of snaps on the other. Looking around online, I found the instructions for the scarf (complete with Jayne Mansfield!) and tried a few of the recommended variations. Basically, you run the band around your head and snap it in place, then you can use the ring to hold various corners of the scarf. I'm very impressed with what you can easily do, and I'm sure you will think of even more ways to wear the scarf! Made of rayon, the scarf is printed with a gorgeous green and orange tropical flower print on grey.
Jayne Mansfield showing off the scarf is from Hakes.com (http://www.hakes.com/item.asp?Auction=204&ItemNo=104318) where a Hollywood Hed-Topper was auctioned. I don't have the instructions, just the scarf.
Condition: Just washed and in very good condition. There is faint soiling inside the band, and several other small stains or marks, shown in the last photo.
