Unique cast iron architectural salvage heat grate with ornate scallop design from the early 1900s. Great Victorian character and a richly pitted rusty patina. This grate is free standing allowing it to be used on the floor to cover a vent or as a doorstop. Makes a wonderful vintage office piece as a memo board for displaying photos and notes. Magnetic bulldog clips work great for this on the flat cast iron. Useful as a bookend or simply displayed for its own rustic charm.
Any moving parts on the grate have long been seized. Bulldog clips not included.
The cast iron grate measures 15 ¼ inches wide by 13 ¾ inches high. The sides measure 2 1/2 inches on the bottom and tapper to 1 inch on the top, making this grate unique in that it stands on its own creating lots of display possibilities. Great home décor piece or window shop display or photo prop.
