Beautiful pink and purple floral transfers adorn the top and the sides of the base. They have been accented with white paint. The undulating curved shape and flowing gold scrolls are fabulous. This piece is stunning. Please zoom in on all the photos so that you can really see the detail.
This is a nice size, at 7 1/8" long, by 5 1/2" across at its widest point. It is about 3" tall with the cover in-place.
There are some teensy manufacturer's flaws, little bumps and bubbles, most noticeably inside. The inside of the base and the underside of the cover have some light discoloration (not visible when the cover is on). There is a chip on the inside of the rim of the cover, where it rests in the base; it is not at all visible from the top. There is a small spot on the base (1/4" by 3/8") where the glaze has worn away; this contains a small dark 1/4" line (inside gold curlicue all the way to the right in the fourth photo). There is minimal wear to the decoration. The flaws are minor and for the most part not visible when the dish is displayed with the cover on...I just mention them for accuracy. This is is very good condition, especially when you consider that it is a true antique.
I can't say enough about how beautiful this is...such French elegance. It would be a wonderful addition to your Limoges collection.
Please note that the rose garland mirrored tray in the last photograph is available in a separate listing.
