Antique Nippon Salt Pepper Set Scenic w Gilt Details

A beautiful early Nippon hand painted scenic porcelain salt and pepper set.

Moriage, or raised gilt decoration and raised beading on top band with soft

blue and pink hand painted flowers. Gilt outlines and spiral decorating on shaker tops.

Soft greens and browns in an idyllic country scene, all hand painted.

Gilt signature mark on bottoms along with Hand Painted Nippon.

Nippon porcelain was made in Japan from 1890 - 1923. Finely made

and prized by collectors, each item was hand made and decorated in

great detail.

Size: 3 high 2 inches wide at bottom

Condition; Great condition, hairline cracks in the base of one shaker, probably

from forcing the cork too tightly. Top of this shaker also has holes from glaze

bubbles in firing. One cork missing.
