My Husband's Battle with Cancer:
♥ In 2006, my then 42 year old husband and father of my two little girls was diagnosed with melanoma (skin cancer). It began with a mole the size of a pencil eraser. When it was discovered it was already at stage 3B. Within a few short months, it had already spread to his lymph nodes. We realized quickly that we were battling a very aggressive form of this disease.
What followed were countless appointments, tests, & biopsies. After that, two difficult surgeries. Then came 1 year of chemo. Administered by IV daily in hospital for one full month, then by injection given by me at home for 11 months after that.
This flung my family into a state of chaos and confusion. It left us without an income and huge medical bills to pay as the treatment needed was not covered by our insurance. And it left my husband in pain, incapacitated & unable to return to work for almost 2 years.
During all this, my faith never left me. It helped me to remain strong and gave me the courage to see my family through this storm called cancer.
The creation of the St Peregrine cancer rosaries came soon after my husband completed his treatment. These rosaries are dedicated to the countless souls, their caregivers and loving families touched by this relentless disease. They are created, with the hope that faith will provide the strength and courage to perservere through one of life's most difficult journeys.
God Bless ~ Josie
