This piece started with a beautiful little pine box, tapered toward the top. It was stained in Red Mahogany and sealed with a clear glaze.
A fully functional, brand new light fixture has been safely and securely fitted into the lid of the box, holding a really cool, vintage spiral filament tube bulb. A salvaged bicycle gear is sandwiched between the fixture and the box.
A vintage brass dish serves as a reflector of sorts, and is securely mounted to the rear of the box.
On the front is a very ornate vintage silver dish, which is home to an interesting mix of watch parts, gears, and industrial components. It's sealed with a heavy clear gloss resin, with naturally occurring blue tinting.
Both sides of the box are accented with round vents. To the right, a series of wires run from the bottom of the box to the light fixture. To the left, a single copper wire runs in a delicate twist to the reflector. Connection points are accented with gears and stampings.
There is a small stash area inside the box, with about enough room for an orange. Or a human heart.
The power cord comes out of a hole in the lower-rear of the box, and operates via a thumb switch.
Overall measurements are about 7 inches wide, by 9 inches tall, by 4 inches deep.
