I see the rock carvings at Fossum telling fierce tales, like the sagas of Beowulf's ancestors written into the land. The boat symbolised many journeys in the ancient world. It carried the sun across the sky, sons across the seas and fathers beyond their graves.

The circle with a cross features on many of the carved rocks in Sweden, often as a protective shield but it also widely held meaning as a wheel, the cycle of the sun and seasons and the four directions. I felt the two were made for each other.

The earrings are fabricated entirely from sterling silver and are a delicate 1 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches tall. Boxed with a jute interior wrapping, all packaging is carefully sourced to be natural, recycled and recyclable except for a strip of outer packaging tape.

*These are made to order right now so please check the shipping tab for shipping times. While I stay true to the original pattern and technique, due to the nature of the process each pair carries the subtle variations of a unique piece of jewellery.
