Bakelite Buttons Sterling Charm Necklace Log Chain Vintage . Gramma's Sewing Box III

I have a wonderful collection of old buttons, many of them made from Bakelite and Celluloid. These are five of the more interesting ones. Handwired with lots of sterling silver wire and hung on heavy soldered sterling silver jump rings.
Oxidized and satin finished to bring out the wonderful texture of the wrapping and the beauty of the chain.

The colors are warm and rich: ranging from ochre to amber, honey, and brown. So pretty.

There's a sterling puffy heart charm at the clasp. The dangly pendant can be removed from the chain if you'd like to use the chain with other charms you already own. All of the metal on this necklace is sterling silver.

Hung on a nice super long 32" sterling oxidized oblong cable chain.
This makes me think of my Grandma who taught me to knit, crochet and sew.
I loved exploring her wonderful sewing box looking for treasures.

Actually, Grandpa was pretty handy with a needle as well, come to think of it!
