Waste not, want not - this ring was made out of a spoon! Solid sterling silver, this uniquely asymmetrical ring with an Art Nouveau motif features a lovely Amethyst gemstone. Perfect for adding some color to your everyday attire!
Unlike many other rings made from old spoons, this ring has been soldered closed, giving it a more refined appearance while making it more comfortable to wear and much more durable. The solder seam is integrated under the stone setting, which helps camouflage it into the design and make it almost invisible when the ring is being worn. The band features a highly detailed, absolutely gorgeous Art Nouveau design, giving the ring a totally unique look. I partially darkened the design on outside of the ring to help make the details pop, and the silver is polished to a high shine.
As an added bonus, I do believe there is a hidden "Green Man" face in the design on this ring - he's hiding in the third photo if you can find him! Popular in folklore, here's the Wiki about the Green Man in case you were curious: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Man
The Amethyst gemstone is an intense, medium-dark purple color, with subtle inclusions that add tons of extra character. Besides being beautiful, it is also February's birthstone! And at 7mm around (a bit larger than 1/4"), the gem is big enough to definitely get noticed while still a comfortable size for everyday wear. The stone setting is handmade with a high-quality, custom bezel which fits super tightly against the gem, leaving no wiggle room whatsoever, and I never use glue to set my stones. There are no gaps between the bezel and the stone.
Buy now before it's gone! This spoon ring is totally one of a kind.
It's so upcycled, your friends won't even know it used to be flatware.
