This original artwork was exhibited in a recent exhibition for the 2012 South Australian Living Artist Festival (SALA). The title of the exhibition, Sodachi, is from a Japanese word which means “grow”. In this exhibition I focused on emotive, small scale mixed media works exploring growth, belonging, nature and the human experience.
Each portrait in the Sodachi series has a vintage feel and is rich in texture and vibrant pastel colours. Mixed media materials including found papers and acrylic paint applied with quick brush strokes and a palette knife, were used to create each piece. The sides of each are also finished beautifully so there no need for framing.
These petite portraits would look amazing hung in a group or just on their own in a space in your home which needs a delicious pop of colour and energy.
Please contact me if you could like a print but don’t see it listed.
