Antique butterfly wing bracelet. Exceptionally rare wide panel blue morpho butterfly wing bracelet. Deeply iridescent sapphire blue wings under thick panels of glass. A tropical souvenir from the early 1900s, possibly as late as the 30s. Most of the surviving pieces from this era have silhouetted scenes painted on the back of the glass. It is a very rare treat to find panels this large, and those that have not been painted. The effect on the wrist is enchanting - the deepest, most surreal iridescence that shifts from an eerie lavender lilac, to deep plum, to a lush cobalt blue, metallic turquoise, peacock green. Set in silvertone metal with spare detailing about the edges. Finishes with a very old spring ring clasp. Stamped made in Brazil. In good condition with a nice patina, a light dusting of the powder from wings under the glass at very edges. A timelessly gorgeous and very rare antique butterfly wing bracelet.
