Each nativity ornament is made by cutting pieces of fusible glass, stacking them together and then fusing it in the glass kiln at about 1480 degrees. Each ornament is also annealed for strength.
Each nativity I make is one of a kind with its own personality and various selected colors. The stable is a beautiful transparent streaky, deep purple glass. (It looks black in all the photos.) A white streaky glass was used for the crib. The robes are made of a very light lavender glass. A piece of beautiful purple dichroic glass adds extra sparkle as it represents the star. Wire has been fused to the top of the ornament as a hanger. A ribbon is tied to th e hanger and can be removed if desired.
The wall behind Mary and Joseph is clear.
Nativities are not just for Christmas. I have customers who hang these up all year long as suncatchers.
Size is 3 1/8" at the widest part of the roof and approx. 2 1/2" tall. My initials are engraved on the back.
