This lovely bead embroidered necklace features a beautiful hand made and painted clay face cabochon. The face is male and he is called Tonatiuh (pronounced Toh-nah-tee-uh) and is an Aztec God of the Sun. Tonatiuh's headpiece is made of a metal cow skull and feathers with blue howlite beads. His face is surrounded by sead beads and blue howlite. The necklace is made with the same beads using the peyote twist. Very beautiful piece and an honor to create. I used silver plated chain and lobster claw to finish this lovely necklace. Necklace measures 16" from silver plated lobster claw to ring with a 2.5" extension chain (18.5" total). Focal piece measures 5" long including the fringe and 3.75" across. Fabulous Piece!
