The backs appear to be glued in. There is a hole in the back of the frame that holds a removeable ring for hanging They are in excellent vintage condition. One issue is that there are wrinkles, more like waves in the padding ~ see pic 4. There is also one tiny bit of amber colored glue on the fabric near one edge of one of the pictures. None of this will detract when hanging on your wall. Very charming!
