All of these fabrics are stunning alone, but together they are a knock-out! With the dark background showcasing the variety of tones, this is a spectacular display of color!
I pieced this modern lap quilt together using a rich brown kona cotton and a vast array of stunning Kaffe Fasset woven stripes. The effect is a brilliant pallet of color and design. With different shades of red, brown, green, blue, purple and orange—they all come ‘alive’ when framed with the dark brown.
For an added twist, I incorporated 3 panels of woven stripes going vertically down the back.
I machine quilted the entire lap quilt with coordinating cotton thread in an all over wave design. I machine stitched the binding to the front and stitched it to the back of the quilt by hand in the traditional manner.
This handmade modern quilt is the perfect size for laps of all kinds—a beautiful quilt for anyone! It’s the perfect lap or throw quilt to snuggle up in any day of the week!
It has been pre-washed with a fragrance free detergent and tumble dried to give it a soft crinkled look.
Machine or hand wash gentle, air dry or tumble dry low. Mild detergent if needed. Do not bleach. Gently washing and drying your handmade quilt extends its life.
