Now, on to the details regarding this listing:
This old lantern has been in my studio for months. It was so encrusted in dirt, oil and grime that I could hardly tell the color. It was not until recently that I decided to see what was under all that...and here it is!
This is a vintage Dietz kerosene lantern with a red glass globe. PLEASE NOTE: The glass globe was broken at some point in its history. Someone took the time to not only glue it together with silicone, but fashion a small replacement piece of glass (amber) on the back of the globe. It is structurally solid and so unique that I decided to leave it as part of the lamp.
The lantern has been thoroughly cleaned and amended to support a new UL rated medium base socket and a 7 watt sign bulb.
A new black cord with an in-line rotary switch controls the lamp.
LANTERN COLLECTORS: There is no railroad name on this lantern.
Approximately 12" H with an 7" wide base. Bulb is included.
Please be sure to read my shop policies before purchase.
SHIPPING: Shipping charges are based on most distant domestic zip code from Atlanta, GA. I charge actual shipping and refund any overpayment in excess of 1.50. Shipping charges are clearly printed on the package label for your reference.
