I hand carved this bezel and had it cast into recycled sterling silver. Then I soldered it to my wheat braid wedding band for a simple yet stunning ring. I set a 5mm cushion cut blood red garnet gemstone into it. I oxidized it to bring out the texture and then gave it a soft polish. It's a sweet little ring! Garnets are said to bring strength and protection to their wearer.

This is a unique ring, I've made it completely with my own hands, nothing about it is mass-produced. It's one of my favorite rings for it's simplicity and special meaning.
It reminds me of wheat and the story of The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint Exupery. Specifically the part about taming the fox.
When the fox meets the Prince they are strangers, and the fox asks the Little Prince to tame him. He says, "The wheat fields have nothing to say to me. And that is sad. But you have hair that is the color of gold. Think how wonderful that will be when you have tamed me! The grain, which is also golden, will bring me back to the thought of you. And I shall love to listen to the wheat in the wind.”
"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." -Antoine de Saint Exupery
