Amazonite is a microcline feldspar stone, named for the Amazon river where it was first found. The color of Amazonite ranges from a greenish teal, to varying shades of blue. The azure blue variety is know as the "hope stone." It is from this variety that these briolettes come. I have wire wrapped with copper then oxidized the earrings followed by polishing for a beautiful contrast. I love paring Amazonite with copper. Copper has such an earthy, organic feel to it, and while Amazonite also comes from the earth, the color is of the sky.
These beauties dangle hopefully just over an inch from the bottom of your lobe.
