I purchased this highly collectible Cram's Universal Terrestrial Globe at a consignment auction. I had the good fortune of sitting next to a lovely woman, named Virginia, who was one of the consignees. This globe originally belonged to her older brother and was passed down to her and her siblings as they went through high school. The eldest brother graduated high school in 1939, so this globe is at least seventy-three years old.
The 12" globe stands roughly 17" tall on a black metal base with a brass-toned metal longitude meridian. There are two noticeable areas of damage. One is some light wear off the coast of Alaska and the other is in Antarctica on the underside of the globe (see third and fourth pics). Otherwise this globe is in very good antique condition.
