Any way you cut it (that's gem humor), the emerald is a stone that is rich in meaning, history, and color. This exquisite Victorian ring has all of those in spades. Circa 1890, a glowing natural green emerald is surrounded by six sparkling rose cut accent diamonds. The stone is a beautiful grass green color with natural inclusions. All the stones are set high off the band, each in their own little claw crown. This ring is a real beauty.
The band is currently a size 7, but can be sized up or down by a competent jeweler. There is no hallmark (often lost if a ring has been sized, which is usually the case when a piece is over 100 years old), but it tests as 14 karat. The stones are secure and the ring is in excellent condition. This would make an beautiful alternative engagement ring.
