This is an interesting leather. It's almost like patent leather - stiffer then most of my leather. The leather does scuff, but I think it adds charm to the journal.
The size (6 x 4.5) is perfect for tucking into a purse or backpack.
There are 120 pages (240 if you count front and back) of 124 gsm weight paper that has been individually tea stained and pressed to give it a rustic, old world look.
The pages have been hand sewn with black waxed Irish bookbinding thread. The use of long stitch binding allows the journal to open flat so every inch of paper can be used.
A matching strap holds everything together (with velcro). The bookmark has been sewn to the cover and has a winged clock charm.
