This is a Forged Aluminum, Silent Butler crumb pan / crumb catcher. These were very popular in the 30's into the 50's.(given as wedding gifts) They usually came with a little brush for sweeping off the crumbs from the table cloth or emptying ashtrays.
This beautiful, unusual silent butler can be hung on walls with floral arrangements in them, or still used for their original purpose. This one has a lid, and is in great vintage condition. There are some scratches and the handle could use some tightening.
Made by Everlast Metals of aluminum, the bottom reads "Everlast Forged Aluminum 552". It measures approx. 5.5" diameter & 11.25" long.
This is a pretty silver hammered, aluminum pot (silent butler) with decorative attached, hinged lid - featuring decorative leaves and vines design and a pie-crust edge.
Aluminum giftware for the home became popular during the 1930s, at a time when most americans could not afford luxury metals like silver. One of the manufacturers of aluminum giftware was Everlast Metal Products Corporation of New York City.
This silent butler from the 1950s has an elegant look. It would be a great item to have, to use, or as a conversation piece!
