This rugged bullet pen is highly unique in many ways. It is handcrafted and and uses parts that resemble a 30 caliber rifle bullet while also featuring a "bolt action" slide that advances or retracts the ballpoint ink cartridge. It is a fun pen but has special handmade quality that will last for generations of continued use. The bolt action mechanism is precision engineered for durability not found in many other pens. It is a very cool and highly unique pen. The clip on this special pen is fashioned to replicate a rifle. This pen has a very good and solid "feel" when you hold it and is a very comfortable to write with.
Features a Black Enamel Plating with Gun Metal plated pen tip and pen clip. The black finish of this pen resembles the finish found on Glock pistols (as well as many other guns).
The pens body was hand machined on my lathe to get the perfect shape and balance. The pen blank (the unfinished, raw pen body material prior to be handcrafted on a lathe) was handmade and hand cast by one of the world's top pen casting professionals. It features a seamless copper braid surrounded by crystal clear pen resin.
There are literally hundreds of steps in the hand making of a pen body of this quality. I use special tools to slowly craft the shape of the pen body as it turns at high speeds on my lathe. Carefully shaping the pen body as it turns requires patience and a feel to get it right. I also hand sand the pen body very carefully prior to hand polishing the surface to a glass like surface. Polishing is an art in itself.
I use many different techniques to have a finish on all my pens that stand out in appearance and shine. The finished clear resin magnifies the beauty of the interior and makes the appeal even better. This pen is definitely an heirloom quality writing instrument while still remaining a fun pen.
