Clay is slab rolled to between 1/4" and 1/8" thickness. Anywhere from 15-20 individual pieces are cut from the clay. They are then assembled on a mold to help for the bowl shape. once the clay is a "soft leather hard", I remove the bowl from the top/outside of the mold, and place it inside to allow it to finish drying. Clay shrinks as it dries and must be allowed to have room to accommodate the shrinkage. If not, the form will break. Once completely air dried, I paint the desired designs on with underglaze (if there is one). It is then fired to cone 04 in a "bisque" kiln. From here, it's removed from the kiln (no fewer than 18 hours later) and glazed. It is then fired to a higher temperature, cone 5. The glaze transforms/melts and when cooled becomes what everyone knows as ceramics (again, no fewer than 18 hours).
Please allow 6 weeks for your item to be made to order (depending on work load, your item could be ready in as soon as 2-3 weeks).

In the 4th picture, you can see an example of all the underglaze colors I currently have available.
In the 5th picture, you can see all of the glaze colors I have.
If you don't see a specific color, it does not necessarily mean I don't have it...so please ask!
