This self-watering herb garden measures approximately 5 inches in diameter and 8 inches tall. The potting dimensions are 3x3. For photo taking, I have added food coloring to the base to help eliminate glare and added black paper to the 'garden' to simulate potting soil. Both pieces are hand engraved and signed. The cork and wick are already in the neck of the bottle so all you need to do is add a few small stones or pea gravel into the neck, add potting soil and plant your seeds or replant an existing plant or your favorite herb, and add water. I put a couple drops of liquid fertilizer in my base. Your plant will draw the water it needs when it's thirsty. Food coloring is not toxic to plants so it's safe to use if you desire. I have found that African Violets love the self-watering system. Mine are thriving since replanting into the herb garden pots. No acid is used in the engraving.
