This spring green monotype print was produced using leaves from an endangered species. Don’t worry!!! It is a deciduous tree that looses it’s leaves every year. Plymouth Pear is Britain’s only native species of pear. There are only a few wild trees growing at secret locations in Devon hedgerows. But there are also specimen trees growing in just a few towns. I gathered the leaves used to create this print from a tree outside the maternity wing of a hospital in Plymouth that was purchasing a whole corridor’s worth of my artwork. The leaves are much smaller and daintier than cultivated pears and the tree produces ‘crab apple’ sized pears.

This is number twelve of a set of twelve prints printed on one day. I will ship prints unframed.

Plymouth Pear VI is a hand pulled print with oil based printing ink on 100% cotton, 300grm Somerset Velvet paper. The print is signed numbered in pencil. 1 / 1 means it’s a one of a kind.

All my prints are hand pulled by me. (Although I also print for other people)
