The engraved areas have been finished with stone paint. The overall surfaces have been sealed with tile and stone sealer. This makes it easy to wipe clean of dust and spills. The tile wold work great in the kitchen or dining room to help protect surfaces from hot pans and dishes. It would also work well as a coaster for your desk or other area where you find yourself setting your cup of coffee often and do not want watermark stains on the furniture.
The tile has been backed with a thin layer of cork to protect it, as well as, to protect any surface it is set onto.
