Encrusted jeweled rhinestone scimitar or curved sword pin made by Coro, c. 1945. Dazzling, daring brooch of the highest quality, manufactured during Coro’s heyday. Top quality rhodium plated figural with an impressive selection of rhinestone shapes and sizes (navette, princess cut, and chaton) in three colors: clear, sapphire blue, and topaz. In excellent almost unused condition, it is a collector’s dream. The marquise foiled topaz rhinestone has all of its coating. MARK: Script “Coro” with Pagasus in an angled box, 1945. Sword pins, daggers, scimitars, and variations were extremely popular figural subjects due to the influence of Hollywood movies. Large and bold, it is a balanced, well-executed design from the Hollywood Regency period.
