This cute sage green porcelain dish is in the form of a stylized Wild Rose, and features a large five petaled blossom with raised edges. There is also the outline of another blossom in the center of the piece. The lower part of the tray has three large leaves which radiate from an undulating stem. The back side of the dish is finished in a pretty slate blue color which complements the sage glaze on the front.
The dish is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and measures 5.25" in length, 3.25" across and just under .5" deep. The glazed back of the piece bears the circa 1954 Wade Mark, which features a three-leaved shamrock with the words "Irish Porcelain" written in script above it. The words "MADE IN IRELAND BY WADE CO. ARMAGH" are printed beneath it. The piece also has the mark "IP/625" at its base.
This pretty piece was made to hold used tea bags, and its raised edges prevent excess liquid from leaking onto your table top. It is quite versatile, however, and could also be used as a ring dish next to the sink or on your bedside table. The sweet little dish celebrates all things Ireland and would make a terrific gift, or could be the decorative accent you have been searching for.
