In this one particular shop there was an airbrush artist who had a bunch of celebrity, portriat and pets images. On shirts, canvas, totes and handbags, bandannas and other items. She had Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler. A few Rock Musicians and a lot of people, pets, wild animals, beach scenes and children.
My sister asked if she could do one of Bruce Springsteen. She told her she could if she had a picture to look at. We went all over just to find the right magazine to get just the right picture.
While this is not a perfect image of Bruce at the time, my sister was overjoyed.
It was a 3 day wait to get the shirt and that would be on the day we were headed back home. Rushing around like crazy people we kept going back to the store. But it was not done yet. Just hours before we had to go to the airport it was finally ready.
This cost several hundred dollars at the time and it was the rest of my sisters spending money for the whole trip.
My sister enjoyed and wore this shirt. The images and writing are still in Excellent condition. But there are some black stains of some sort on the sleeves. Not sure if it is over-spray or something else. But it wont come off.
It really doesn't harm the integrity of the image at all. Especially if you roll up your sleeves : )
Even if one were to find another shirt by the same artist of the same image it would be a one of a kind. No two could ever be the same. Like snowflakes.
This is truly a work of art as well as a piece of clothing with Bruce Springsteen on it!
It is a lighter Sweatshirt. Doesn't Wrinkle. Made by TROPIC. It is very long. Almost like a Shirt dress. Which were kind of popular in 1982... It is long, light and a sort of slender cut. Not like most sweatshirts. After all it was purchased in Sunny CA. It is soft and very comfortable.
Let's just say, I am 6'1 and it comes down to my upper thigh. My sister is 5'7...
People will say WOW, I love your shirt!! And mean it!!
Because this really is a true work of wearable art. Perhaps there is someone out there that would take some fabric paint or some other medium and make the :stains: appear as if they were part of the shirt and design.
I'd do it myself. But frankly I am not the Bruce freak of the family. I like his music. But not like my sister.
Great Gift or project shirt.
