She is all spring jointed and her description is as follows:
When I purchased her, she was missing about half of her face, including some of the wood itself. I was able to smooth as much as possible and replace the paint on about 1/4 of her face -the rest of her paint is original. One of her eyes is mostly repainted and her right eye still has a very raised place that I was afraid to sand down since it is so close to her eye and I wanted to preserve the original paint. Her body has not been repainted. It does have some wear - the varnish shows brown in some places, and she has some roughness under the paint on one leg, but I don't think it has been repainted - the paint has all the same patina. One arm has a black mark that won't come off-I was afraid to mess with it.
While this is a very hard to find 19" character face, she is not perfect - but she is most definitely charming!
Her wig has been replaced and is real mohair, similar to that used on Schoenhut dolls. Her dress is an antique white dress with a slip - neither original to her, but incredibly appropriate looking and her stockings are newer. She will need a good pair of shoes!
She was in my collection for quite a while and I decided to change her wig from a short one to a long one - but I will also include the short wig in case you wish to switch it!
I have many additional photos of this doll if requested!
I am sure this girl will bring someone as much joy as she has me - amazing that after 100 years her spring joints are all still very play-able and tight as you can see - she can still hold a pose! :)
