This is a great multiple purpose functional pot. This small bud vase holds several stems of freshly cut flowers. This vase also can be a great bottle for everything from oils, perfume, and spirits...just add a cork. This is a great gift for grandma's flowers to grandpa's whiskey!
Whats soda firing?
Good questions. Soda firing is the Cadillac of pottery firing. Soda firing requires a large, outdoor, brick kiln. Gas or wood heat is needed to bring the pottery and the bricks to 2400 degrees. At this extreme temperature i spray into the kiln a mixture of baking soda and water into the kiln...yes like the baking soda in your fridge. The soda of course vaporizes and bonds with the silica in the clay. This vapor travels through the kiln attaching itself to the pottery. The soda can push the glazes around the pot, make them runny, matt glazes turn glossy, and a variety of other great effects.
Thanks for taking a look. Email me with any questions.
