Nurse Judy holds the small patent while Doctor Chip uses his stethoscope to listen to this heart. The patient, Raggedy Andy, smiles bravely, ignoring the worried looks shared by the others. The cover of this 1964 kids book, "Uncle Arthur's Bedtime Stories," reminds me of a Normal Rockwell painting. The two kids, brother and sister probably, sit outside on a sunny summer day, in front of a red wooden playhouse, while their loyal dog looks on. Details hint at the bygone era -- plain old Keds tennis shoes, a red tricycle with plastic streamers hanging from the white plastic handlebars, the old-fashioned doll stroller in the background.

I converted this book into a cover for a large Nook HD Plus or Kindle Fire HD. Inside, 2 padded panels covered in red, brown and grey knit fabric (from a recycled boy's shirt like the one on the cover) protect your device, which is held in place by white elastic. A denim pocket from kids blue jeans can hold cards, papers, or other small flat valuables. A black elastic strap keeps the case closed.

Considering its age, the front cover is in very good shape.

Fits 9-inch Nook HD Plus, Kindle Fire HD 8.9.
