mixed-media on paper - 16" x 16" - unframed
Windowed Triad was created especially to be part of a group exhibition in New York's Chelsea Market. Limitations became assets as I familiarized myself with the Market venue.
All the work had to be flat because the design staff at Chelsea Market has installed glass sandwiches bolted to the walls to hold their rotating art exhibits. This prompted me to work on wonderful textured papers instead of my more usual stretched canvases.
The way that the holders floated off of the walls also suggested some ideas, often related to allowing a glimpse of the brick walls behind. In this case, the wall behind is visible through the windows cut into the paper.
Windowed Triad hung at Chelsea Market from August 3 to September 7, 2008 and is currently available in it's original state - which is to say "unframed". It's priced accordingly.
Shipping for unframed works is free to the continental US and only $5.00 to Canada.
