Charming antique musical powder box. Musical elements are in good working order. When the lid is removed It plays "Oh how we danced on the night we were Wed" and stops playing when the lid is put back. The wind up mechanism is in good condition. On the top is a lovely neo classical scene of a man and woman in a garden. The box is made of a blue metal (probably aluminum) and the wood base has a logo of a lyre. I have not yet been able to id the maker. The box is 4" in diameter at the base and is 3 1/2" tall and is from the 1940's. It has 3 gold painted round wooden ball legs. This would be lovely on any woman's vanity to keep trinkets or jewelry in. The metal shows some age spots in some places as would be the case with something of this age but this does not detract from the charm of the piece.
