The gold-filled jewelry option is one of the most valuable and tarnish-resistant processes for creating gold jewelry. If properly cared for, your jewelry can last a lifetime. Gold-filled usually will last much longer than gold-plated jewelry with proper care. Gold-filled is legally required to contain 5% or 1/20 gold by weight.

∙ WHAT IS GOLD-PLATED JEWELRY? ∙

Gold plating is a method of depositing a thin layer of gold onto the surface of another metal, most often copper or silver (to make silver-gilt), by chemical or electrochemical plating.

There are several types of gold plating used in the industry. We use only high-quality electroplated components, pendants, and chains. 16K, 18Kor 24K Gold Plated — This means the plating layer is 24K gold. Gold plated jewelry is strong and durable, it is alloyed with other metals or electroplated to keep a gorgeous shape, thus can handle the abuse of everyday wear. As with all jewelry follow jewelry care instructions.
