Okay, so, maybe not really. But this isn't your typical fluffy pink unicorn jumping over rainbows. He does have his bitey/stabby moods.
This unicorn is OOAK (one-of-a-kind); no molds were used or made. He is sculpted from polymer clay, painted with acrylics in many layers for depth and realism, and varnished with a glossy glaze. (Many people assume it's salt-glazed ceramic until I tell them otherwise.) He is suspended above the soapstone base with a 1/4" (6.35 mm) clear acrylic (plexiglass) tube.
The green-gray soapstone base is rough-carved on the top and front, and sheer on the other sides. It has a good amount of heft, weighing 2 lbs. (0.9 kg) by itself. The bottom is carved with my signature symbol.
This piece is 7 inches (18 cm) tall to the tip of the horn, 5.5 inches (14 cm) long from the back of the base to the tip of the horn, and 3 inches (8 cm) wide.
*** This item is not a toy and is not intended for children. ***
*** SHIPPING: The base and unicorn will be separated for safe shipping. (The acrylic tube slides easily into the base for reassembly.)
U.S. buyers: The shipping estimate for the U.S. reflects the furthest shipping zones. It is cheapest to send the heavy base in a separate box to these zones. (Nearest zones and international buyers will receive one box.) Buyers in Sacramento (as an example) will pay only $6.81 for shipping. I will refund the difference if the shipping cost is more than $2.00 less than the estimate. (This shipping difference refund can only be issued if you have a verified account with Paypal. If you don't have an account with Paypal, please send me your zip code for an accurate shipping cost before purchase.) I will pay for insurance myself.
International buyers: Due to customs laws, it may not be legal to ship to all countries. I will pay for the insurance for Priority Mail International shipments that allow it. Insurance is NOT available to some countries including Israel, Mexico, and many African countries except via Express Mail International, which costs more. In such cases the buyer assumes the risks of breakage or loss unless he/she chooses to pay extra for Express Mail International (and I will pay for insurance). If you want to opt for Express Mail International, please contact me for an exact shipping charge.
