Clive Henderson from Auntie's Beads contacted me and asked me to make a piece with some of the beads from his site about a year and a half ago. Shiny pretty things and a deadline from both he and also Bead & Button? I'm so on it!
This bead embroidered pendant has my signature "too much fringe." The central three pieces are vintage buttons I've been hoarding, but all the fringe beads are stuff I got from Auntie's Beads and from a challenge I did for Caravan Beads Chicago. Its more vibrantly purple in person than on my screen.
Necklace collar is stiffened with an internal brass collarpiece. Fits a 16" neck. Piece hangs approximately 7" from top to bottom of piece. Consider pairing with a bead embroidered bracelet or two for a great set! Both bracelets are also available in my Etsy shop.
I've always been truly impressed by the Northern Lights, and been meaning to make something based off the attached photo for quite some time.
Pictures were taken in a table top photo studio and the bead has been enlarged to show details. Colors may slightly vary on different monitors. On my monitor, for instance, the purple doesn't look as vibrant is it is in real life.

June 29th, 2012 This piece was just shared on Pinterest under another artist's name. I like thinking the best of beaders, but sometimes I'm disappointed. If you see this in your twitter stream, it was NOT done by a two-bit set of beaders out of Florida. This took me hours of creation and design time.
