These earrings are based on actual Celtic enamel work from around 100 BC. Most of the Celtic repertoire of images before the advent of interlacing (knotwork) was abstract bold and direct as in this piece.
The meaning is obscure, but it may symbolize the moon's power over the tides, and the three waves represent the three powers of women: the power of purity as a maiden, nurturing as a mother, and wisdom in old age.
Chain is made of red brass and comes in two weights - heavy and light.
The single pictures are of colours NOW IN STOCK. (Turquois, green, brown and bright blue) Red is also in stock. They can be at your door in 3 to 7 days. Other colours will take a few more days - but are available upon request.
