anahaw / footstool palm / Livistona rotundifolia
The anahaw is a round-leaf fountain palm which is endemic to the Philippines. It is often planted as an ornamental plant for outdoor and indoor as it remains green even in a dry environment. The leaves are used for thatching and food wrapping, the buds and shoots are cooked as vegetables.
