Story: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) has been interpreted as an artistic representation of McCarthyism and the Red Scare, when Americans were terrorized by their own government into thinking that anyone could be an enemy to their freedom and way of life. Sound familiar?
Don Siegel, the director of this sci-fi classic, didn't see any anti-communist message in his film. Instead, he saw the undercurrent of the struggle between the pods and people: conformity versus individualism. However, it wasn't the body-snatching that caused the conformity--it was our own willingness to let our humanity slip away. The pods were just capitalizing on an opportunity.
As Confucius said, "Wherever you go, there you are."
Choose your direction wisely.
The velvety matte finish of the cardstock gives a pastel richness to the colors, and the story behind this image is printed on the back. Little Beauties Art Cards are gorgeous when framed and loved wherever they're sent!
