A fairy chrysalis is a cocoon that will some day hatch a fairy. The Fairy Chrysalis pendants are my vision of what such a cocoon might look like. They all contain a large semiprecious core bead, which is encrusted with a layer of gemstones and seed beads, created with free form bead weaving. Each one is totally unique; I couldn't repeat it if I tried. I imagine that the Pink Piper born from this pendant would spend a lot of time playing her flute to the lilies and reciting poetry to the roses.
This Fairy Chrysalis pendant contains a pink muscovite for its core. It's a translucent pale pink that sparkles in the light. The outside is encrusted with a variety of beads including white opals with multi-colored flashes and a pink rhodachrosite. The seed beads are a rich mixture of rosy warm colors including copper, pink, peach, burgundy, dark brown, gold and bronze.
A bail for stringing is woven right into the bead work and is large enough to hold a chain at least 3mm thick. The pendant comes on a piece of twisted maroon cord, finished with sterling silver crimps. Plus, I added a little pinkish orange borosilicate glass bead to make the necklace easily adjustable to your desired length up to 32 inches.
Pendant is 49mm tall, 17mm wide, and 14mm thick.
Signed with my custom stamped sterling silver tag.
All of my jewelry arrives in an origami gift box, hand folded by me out of beautiful printed card stock.
