Are you having a non-traditional wedding and wanting something to express your own personal story on top of your wedding cake? Well, grab a glass of wine, sit back, and let me tell you a little story of my own.
Some dear friends of mine (pictured here) were getting married, each for the second time. They were bringing children from previous unions to their new family, and it was important to have that represented on their cake rather than a more typical bride and groom. The solution was to choose colorful figures made in honor of each of the five members of their new family.
My tallest wedding cake figures are just a tad over 5" high, made from wood and painted with a rubberized paint that is food safe and cleanable so you can save them as a memento after your special day. The hair is a dyed animal fur that comes in almost every color of the rainbow.
I also made the large flowers you see on the cake. They are similar to the wedding cake daisies in my cake toppers section on the Etsy site.
I am happy to customize your set to match wedding colors, and add the beloved animals who are also part of your family. The images I have included here show some of the possibilities that we can do, but I love the challenge of custom orders, so feel free to drop me an email so we can begin the discussion.
(Please note that the price I have quoted here is what the five family member set pictured in the second image would cost. Depending on the size of your family, prices may be adjusted.)
And one more thing. If you're wondering who took the fabulous images of the cake and actual happy family, it's the work of Portland, Oregon photographer James Newman. To see more of his amazing documentation of special moments, visit his website at http://www.jamesnewmanphoto.com/
